IMFS student gives an open lecture on Cyberbullying as a Modern Threat on the Internet in Lviv Window on America

With the development of the advanced technology in the modern world, appeared another form of bullying – cyberbullying. It is a form of aggression that involves violent actions aimed at harassing, harming and humiliating a person through the use of information and communication technologies: mobile phones, e-mail, social networks, etc.

Cruelty on the Internet, humiliation of a person without physical contact. Cyberbullying is a modern threat on the Internet.

Mariia Kalmykova, a fourth-year student of the Department of International Information, Lviv Polytechnic National University, spoke about the extent of cyberbullying in the world and about campaigns to address this threat. The event, where there was discussed the essence of cyberbullying, the scope of the problem and the use of personal information against you, was held at Lviv Window on America (one of 29 centers in Ukraine, created due to the partnership between the US Embassy and Roman Ivanychuk Lviv Region Library for Young People).

There was also a discussion of personal experiences regarding the problem of online harassment, using nonformal activities.
