On August 31, the preliminary results of the admission campaign 2020 were announced at the press briefing on the beginning of the new academic year 2020/2021 with the participation of Acting Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine Serhii Shkarlet.

This year, 49,277 entrants (79.2%) received recommendations for government or region funded places, thus they had the opportunity to enter the most desired universities. In 2019, this figure was 75.4%.

During this year’s admission campaign, 962 thousand e-applications were registered through the Unified State Electronic Database on Education. They were submitted by almost 191 thousand entrants, which is 23 thousand more than last year. This is due to the increase in the number of school graduates and the expansion of the list of categories of entrants who decided to submit electronic application form.

The Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine has produced the ranking of ten higher education institutions by the largest number of applications submitted on the basis of complete general secondary education. Lviv Polytechnic National University ranks fourth.
