Lviv Polytechnic took first place among Ukrainian universities in the ranking of THE Impact 2021

On April 21, 2021, Times Higher Education published Impact Rankings measuring the impact of universities around the world on solving urgent human problems. This is the third edition of the unique global ranking, which is formed according to the 17 Sustainable Development Goals set by the United Nations.

The compilers have generated 18 ranking: overall and 17 ranking for each Sustainable Development Goal. The overall ranking includes 1115 universities from 94 countries, including 17 Ukrainian higher education institutions.

In 2021, Lviv Polytechnic became the leader in the overall ranking among higher education institutions of Ukraine and significantly improved its position compared to last year (5-10th place among 10 Ukrainian HEIs).

The total result increased significantly - from 41.9 to 60.2 points out of 100. Lviv Polytechnic took 401-600 place out of 1115 universities in the world and showed results in 15 UN Sustainable Development Goals.

In 2020, our University ranked 601+ out of 768 universities and was represented by 9 UN Sustainable Development Goals.

It is worth mentioning that Lviv Polytechnic is the undisputed leader among Ukrainian universities by Partnerships for the goals (SDG 17). According to Peace, justice and strong institutions (SDG 16), the University raised 100 positions up compared to the previous year with an overall increase in the number of participants in the ranking.

This ranking is a good tool for entrants when choosing a higher education institution, because it shows which universities today meet their needs and aspirations. The ranking also helps higher education institutions to disseminate modern teaching methods, research and innovation.
